One of Dickens’s best-loved and most autobiographical stories follows the life of young David from his unhappy childhood to middle age and his discovery of his gift as a storyteller. The novel is brought vibrantly to life in this warm, funny and face-paced adaption, full of his finest characters, including optimist Mr Micawber, the fawning Uriah Heep, the formidable Aunt Betsy Trotwood and the glamorous, spoilt Steerforth.
